Chester County Night School

Embracing Cancer

Nancy herself was diagnosed last year with no warning, of Ovarian Cancer stage 3C/4, with a 2% chance to live. After spending most of the entire summer with major complications, and almost having died three times, she left the hospital at the end of August. She then started her 22 weeks straight of chemotherapy the first week of September. Shockingly, it was one of her best years of her life, as she learned to embrace Cancer and all that comes with it; having to face her fears, priorities, and how to deal with the emotional, physical and spiritual roller coaster that affected not just her, but her loved ones, and hundreds of other people. This course is designed to be a compassionate and inspiring discussion group for those who are facing cancer, are in remission, or those who have loved ones facing cancer. Nancy has been able to help so many face their fears and as she said to all her doctors, "put fun and joie de vivre into the journey of Cancer." The journey isn't over yet, as Nancy is in remission, but is still facing many more surgeries and is BRACA positive. However, Nancy wants to help as many people as she can make this horrible part of life for all of us as beautiful and loving and as possible.
