Guitar Skills for the Young Musician (ages 11 - 14)
This one-week, half-day course is designed for beginner to intermediate guitar students. Students will learn many of the different styles, skills and techniques required to become a successful guitarist. Areas of concentration include: correct posture, note reading, flat-picking, singing songs, rhythmic patterns, chord study, finger-picking styles, musical forms, improvisation and performing experiences. Students will be introduced to different styles of playing, such as rock and roll, jazz, latin and others. There will be group activities, games, and even some special guests!
