Chester County Night School

Archaeology at Newlin Grist Mill

Students will learn about the history beneath their feet in this hands-on session! We will start with an introduction on what historic archaeology is, how it's done, and why Newlin Grist Mill conducts regular excavations onsite. Students will then spend approximately an hour digging and screening soil on an active excavation with our staff archaeologist, and an hour doing lab work (cleaning artifacts and learning about the process of cataloguing and storing them).
