Smiling Dogs Happy Humans: The Making of a Therapy Dog

The need for canines to help provide emotional support and stress relief in schools , nursing homes, workplaces, reading programs , recovery from natural disasters and countless other situations continues to grow exponentially. Are you wondering if you have a dog that might be able to become a certified therapy dog? In this session, learn what to look for to evaluate if you dog has the right temperament to take on this important role. Understand the time and how to teach the behaviors it takes to develop the foundational skills your dog needs to be successful. See a skill demonstration of the foundational behaviors by Lily ( CGC, CGCA, TDI), the Chester County wellness canine, Tail Wagging Tutor and Barclay Friends volunteer.
