Newlin Grist Tour and Pizza Making

Students will take a guided tour through the 1704 grist mill and experience the power of water, learn about the history of technology and simple machines, and see how corn is transformed into corn meal. Then we will learn the secrets to colonial cooking with the hands-on preparation of Flatbread Pizza in an authentic outdoor oven. Note: The tour is an hour and the cooking is two hours (assembling, baking and eating different varieties of pizza).
