Avoid the summer slide and dive into the book club. During this week, students will read, discuss and respond to literature in a relaxed environment using a book club approach. The book club approach helps: - Promote a love for literature and a positive attitude towards reading; - Encourage extensive and intensive reading; - Invite natural discussions that lead to student inquiry and critical thinking; - Support diverse responses to text; - Foster interaction, cooperation and collaboration; - Expose students to literature from multiple perspectives; and - Nurture reflection and self-evaluation.
