Designed to "whet" your appetite, tapas traditionally were used as a precursor to dinner, a time to gather, nibble, sip and prepare to dine. Nowadays tapas are seen more globally as part of whole meal, dishes that ar designed for sharing, slowing down, and gathering around a table.
