The continuing uncertainty and concerns about safety, shipping, and challenges from an increasingly hard to predict economy and climate may have you considering how you can grow a productive vegetable, herb, and fruit garden. With some planning, you can easily grow edibles! Whether in raised beds, mxed in with the flowers or in containers, you don't need acres to have an abundant harvest! This three-part workshop will teach you time-saving and sustainable methods on how to set up and select the fruits, berries, herbs and vegetables best suited for your family. Soil preparation, composting, seed starting, transplanting, care, irrigation, pest management, harvesting and preserving your harvest will be covered. Techniques for extending your season in the spring, fall, and even winter will be discussed.
Fee: $64.00
Hours:6.00
