World Class Painting and Drawing
Discover, study and explore Conceptual Art. Learnto develop your own personal content to create truly original Art work. Art is choice and selection. The problem with Painting and Drawing is what to paint and draw. This class explores how Artists delve into themselvesto discover meaningful content/imagery which can engage the viewer (your audience) and yourself more powerfully. Will also discuss composition, lighting, materials and techniques. Hands on instruction, demonstration, fun and encouraging. Materials: Bring drawing pad, pen,pencil, and any image object or photo which interests you and any ideas that you are working with to share and discuss with the class.

|Notes:||NOTE: New class dates: 3/20-5/29 (no class: 5/1 and 5/15) For beginners who wish to learn basics with realism please get the following: Stick charcoal (vine or willow charcoal... thin and 3/4" thick- comes in packs of three sticks) Fat - or Chunky charcoal (This is about the thickness of a finger - I believe you can get it on Amazon) kneaded eraser or two a couple charcoal pencils regular pencil stubbs (stumps) (paper sticks with pointed ends) 18x24" Charcoal pad (specify charcoal only... not all purpose generic pad) For those who want to paint please get the following: Acrylic (fast drying) or water based oil paint (slow drying) White (titanium) Black Cad. Red Cad. Yel Cad. Orange Permanent Green or Viridian Pthalo Green Pthalo Blue a vibrant purple Ultramarine Blu Quinacridone Violet Yellow Ocre Raw Sienna Burnt Sienna Burnt Umber palette (If acrylic get a sealable palette) palette knife rags (natural cloth is best) canvas (18”x24” (or bigger) is best) brushes (round bristles, flat bristles - big and small) painting medium (oils) matte medium (acrylic) jars for water or thinner plastic cups w lids (for paint storage) (around the size of baby food jars is good) .... Or go to one of the websites like Blick and pick ones you like! Bring your own art materials and easel. See supply list for recommended materials to bring to first class.|
