Chester County Night School

Hollywood Movies Vs. Reality

In "Twister," remember the cow flying away from a tornado? Or the giant canyon opening up in "San Andreas"? Don’t let Hollywood fool you! These iconic scenes are science fiction! In this class, we give Hollywood Blockbusters a reality check. To do this, we'll learn basic meteorology, geology, and space science, do fun, hands-on experiments, and watch movie clips. The instructor, who's a TV meteorologist and professor at West Chester University, will use a lot of real-world examples. You'll leave the class with a better understanding of volcanoes, earthquakes, tornadoes, the Northern Lights, and geostorms.
