Mix It Up! Print, Paint and Collage

So, you’ve been collecting creative scraps and do-dads for years waiting for the moment they will be turned into a masterpiece- wait no longer! That left over wallpaper, those few squares of tile and swatches of fabric can finally be put to good use. “Mix It Up” is an introductory course that explores formal and conceptual foundations of mixed media, 2-dimensional art making. Students will be guided through progressive drawing, printmaking and collage techniques including image transfers, low relief carving, block printing, stencilling, monoprinting and fabric collage. Through process and experimentation students gain a richer understanding of materiality and visual literacy.

$25/student payable to instructor on the first day *substrate, adhesives, resin and other misc. consumables provided
