Local History (Colonial Developments)

This is a sequel to the First Settlements course. Follow the deveopment inland from the Delaware River to Pottsgrove on the Schuykill. The land will be cleared, and farmscapes and villages will evolve. What type of structures did these immigrants build? Learn about metting houses, mills, early roads, taverns, iron works and the people who built them. What happened to the Lenape? What was the Turk's Head? Did the French and Indian War impact Chester County? The course concludes with the Revolution coming to Chester County.
