Rowing on the Schuylkill River Status: Will review 5/15 with instructor
How many of us have wondered what it must be like to glide effortlessly along the Schuylkill River in a rowing shell? Whether you are a true beginner or have some experience, join us on Boat House Row (home of numerous world and Olympic champions) to learn how to row. This course will provide one of the best vantage points in the city to watch seasons change in Philadelphia. Open to adults 18 and up, to learn the fundamentals of proper sculling technique, safety and boat handling skills. Rowing is a strenuous sport that requires flexibility and stamina, so expect a total body workout. Wear sneakers, close fitting shorts or tights (such as Lycra) and no baggy t-shirts. YOU MUST BE ABLE TO SWIM TO SIGN UP FOR THE COURSE. Note: Weather and special events may impact the schedule. Instructor will determine make-up dates and times as needed. This is a Beginner/Advanced Beginner Course. If you have taken this course before, please note that when you register so that we can be certain you are taught at your level.

This class is located at the public dock which is 2200 Kelly Drive Philadelphia PA 19104 ( You can park in the St Joseph's Boathouse Parking Lot and then you will need to walk around the building to the public dock. You will see a fleet of boats stored outside on racks and that means you have arrived at your destination.|
